Janet Louise Swigger, 81, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at her home. She had worked for the City of Point Pleasant and the WV Dept. of Highways State Road Garage. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Point Pleasant High School and enjoyed adventures with her husband Charlie and her friends and family in Michigan, West Virginia and Ohio. She was also a devout Christian.

Janet was born on December 19, 1932, in Southside, a daughter to the late Hobart Edward and Bess (Riffle) Stanley. In a addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles R. Swigger, II; a brother, Earl William Stanley; and a sister, Mary Norma Dunn.

Janet is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Linda Miller, of Charleston, Mark and Diana Miller, of Grafton, Matt and Ronda Miller and Andrew Miller, all of Point Pleasant; step-son, Charles R. and Donna Swigger, III; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Janet's life will be remembered at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Tony Stover officiating. Burial will follow in Rocksprings Cemetery, in Pomeroy. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
