Jewell (Caudill) Bordman, 102, of Point Pleasant passed away September 21, 2024. John 14:3 KJV reads: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." Jewell was a devout Christian woman. She read the Bible every day until her eyes grew too dim to see the pages. She was a kind and generous woman. She always had a smile for anyone she would meet. Everyone who came into contact with Jewell just loved her. Not only did she have an outer beauty but she had an inner beauty as well.
She was born on September 9, 1922 to the late Willard Benton Caudill and Carrie Ellen (Dabney) Caudill in Henderson, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, John Melvin Bordman; sons Don Melvin and Danny Bordman; brothers Marvin Caudill, Harry Caudill (she taught him how to play the guitar) Russell Caudill, John Caudill, Dallas Caudill; sisters Garnett Pearson and Margie Kinnaird.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Stan and Barbara Bordman of Point Pleasant WV, daughter, Vana Bordman of Point Pleasant, WV and her fiancé David Yost of Leon, WV; sister, Wilma June Nibert of Point Pleasant, WV; grandchildren Rod (Rosemary) Bordman of Norwalk, Ohio, Ryan Bordman of Norwalk, Ohio, Chris (Tricia) Bordman of Cary, NC, Chad (Kourtney) Bordman of Lewisville, NC, Cam (Kara) Bordman of Greensboro, NC; great- grandchildren Megan (Don) Ralph, Kalyn (Jaron) Hensley, Ethan, Owen and Eliza Bordman, Wyatt Bordman, Amelia, Sloane, and Josephine Bordman; great-great- grandchildren Aiden Ralph and Jeno Hensley. Numerous nieces and nephews who were so devoted to her. She loved each and every one of them with all of her heart.
Jewell was a member of New Hope Bible Baptist Church of Point Pleasant , WV. She was co-owner and operator of Bordman Furniture until her retirement. She was a member of several clubs in the area including the quilting club and the Woman's Club.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Crow Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV with Pastors Dean Warner and Mel Mock officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
