Jewell Spears, 94, of Gallipolis Ferry, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, May 4, 2011, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. Jewell was member of and attended the Henderson Church of Christ. She was born February 14, 1917, in Clay County, KY, a daughter to the late Lee and Drucella Robertson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Spears; her daughter, Janet Louise Neal; her sister, Lucy Wright; and brother, Arthur Robertson.

Jewell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Sr., and Shirley Spears, of Point Pleasant; her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Gordon Phillips, of Cross Hills, SC; her grandchildren, Robert "Robbie" Jr., and Terri Spears, Natalie and Ray Escue and Jeff Neal; and her great-grandchildren, Bridget and Michael Harmon, Thomas "T.J." Escue and Whitney Spears

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Henderson Church of Christ, with Rev. Bill Deem officiating. Burial will follow at Austin-Hope-McLeod Cemetery, on Redmond Ridge Road. Visitation will be held at the church two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Henderson Church of Christ Food Pantry.
