John Sheridan Oshel age 77, of Point Pleasant, passed away at his home, on Friday morning, July 26, 2013 with his loving family at his side.

John was born in Wheeling ,WV on September 14, 1935 to the late Paul Sheridan and Katherine Oshel.

John spent many years as an educator in West Virginia teaching in Wayne, Cabell and Mason Counties, he loved teaching and his students loved and respected him. He truly enjoyed teaching, but John's love was farming, so much that if asked what he did John would say he was a farmer. He worked hard and taught his children the value of faith and hard work.

John is survived by his loving wife, Marcia and their four children, Carolyn (Doug) Douthit of Point Pleasant, Marc (Codette) Oshel, of Gallipolis, Charlotte Oshel, of Point Pleasant, and John B.(Laura) Oshel, of Winfield. Grandchildren; Mathew S. & Meghan E., Douthit, Kathryn I. ,Mikhayla D., and Ryan Levi Sheridan Oshel, Kennedie B., & Luke S. Oshel. One brother Paul William Oshel, of Newport News, VA. and a host of friends and family to long to list that will miss him dearly.

John was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Rio Grande, OH, and his services will be held Saturday August 3, 2013 at the church in Rio Grande beginning at 2 PM with Minister Timothy Gainer officiating.
