Juanita Ann Gardner age 92 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away at her home in Point Pleasant with her family by her side on Wednesday October 23, 2024.

Juanita was born January 13, 1932 in Mason County West Virginia to the late John Thomas and Nellie Pullin Thomas. She was the baby of 12 children in the Thomas family.

Juanita graduated high school in Point Pleasant and not long after married the love of he life, Henry  "Parky" Parkinson Gardner and the two spent 69 years devoted to each other and built quite a life here in Point Pleasant.

Early in life she worked for the phone company in Point Pleasant as a late night phone operator which she enjoyed, and boy could she share some stories, but not long after her children came she stepped away from the phone company to take on her life's work raising her children and running her household.

Juanita and Parky started raising an all organic garden back before organic was the cool thing to do, he wanted a garden and she was determined that if they where doing it it must be all natural, and that is exactly what it was.

Juanita was a loving wife and caring mother that loved her family and also loved and cared for her sisters for many years while she was the baby of the family she cared for them all as if she was the mother, it was just her nature to put everyone else before her own needs or wants. She was a magnificent cook and loved to cook and share with family and friends, for years she was famous for her gourmet chocolate chip cookies that she would bake from scratch and deliver to the nursing home in Point Pleasant along with her organic honey that she hived and collected on her own.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Henry Parkinson "Parky" Gardner, their son, Thomas Brent Gardner and also she out lived all 11 of her sibling.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Teresa and Kenneth Kughs, granddaughter; Ashley and Brian Rowel and her great-grandchildren; Brian Jr, Luna, and John that will all miss her amazing stories and loving cooking..

There will be a graveside service for Juanita on Monday October 28, 2024, at 2:00 at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant, WV.
