Judith Ann (McGuffin) Kay, 78, of Point Pleasant, passed into the arms of her Savior on Sunday morning, January 31, 2016. She was retired from Holzer Hospital and was a 1955 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and was also a homemaker. Judy was a Christian by faith. She was born on February 16, 1937, in Point Pleasant, a daughter to the late Harold and Mildred (Rodgers) McGuffin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ernest Kay; her son, Richard Dean Friley; nephew, Thomas A. McGuffin and great-nephew, Samuel Steadman.
Judy is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Jan and Allen Sayre, of Point Pleasant, Harriet McGuffin, of Akron, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Tom and Pam McGuffin, Rochester, MN; step-children and their spouses, Walter and Melissa Kay, of Salem, VA, Charles and Casey Kay and Maria and Gordon Van Ness, all of Richmond, VA; and step-grandchildren, Ashley and Laura Anne Kay and A.G. Van Ness; nieces and their spouses, Teresa and Steve Jarvis and their children, Hannah, Erica and Mikayla and Lori and Bill Steadman and their daughter, Anna; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Kay.
Judy's life will be remembered at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
