Obituary

June Francis (Daley) Salem, died February 16, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center. Born in Rhode Island, she came to West Virginia with her husband Nick Salem, in 1966. She was the mother of Nik Salem (Doris) and Traci Stewart (Bill) and Grandmother to Scotty Wegner, Frostt Salem, William Stewart and Hannah Stewart.

June was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Virginia Daley, one sister, Carol Spooner, and her mother by marriage and shopping buddy, K. Gene Salem.

Surviving, in addition to her immediate family, are her sister, Kathy Turbitt, and brother Richard Daley, both of Rhode Island. She also has several nieces and nephews.

In 1981, the Salem's moved to Parkersburg WV. June joined and then was made the President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. While president, she organized and started the Ladies Auxiliary catering service, which was very successful.
June had exceptional talents. Upon moving back to Pt Pleasant, she started a basket making business which she displayed at numerous craft shows around the state. She was a member of Mason County writers group, and published several stories, in addition to publishing a book, The Progress of Point Pleasant, on her own. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Point Pleasant, where she participated in the choirs and singing groups.

There will be no services per June's wishes. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to either the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, or the First Church of God Building fund.

June's care and the care of the Salem family has been entrusted to Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
