Obituary

Junior Lee Mattox, age 65, of Leon, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at his home. He was a police officer in the town of Leon and had also worked security for Pinkerton, Two Rivers, Mountain State and Scott Security Companies. He had worked at W.V. Malleable Iron, WesBanco and also Excelsior Salt Works. He was a member of the House of Praise and Worship. Junior was born on January 17, 1949, in Leon, a son to the late Earl Richard and Hazel Thelma (Rollins) Mattox. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, J.R. Mattox.

Junior is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Christina and Ed Canter, of Columbus and Robin Mattox, of Leon; a son, Charles Earl Mattox, of Leon; grandchildren, Brandon Scott Jeffers, Sara Nicole Mattox, Clairissa Renee Mattox and Megan Lee Mattox; sisters, Carolyn Russell, Jeanie Davis and Diana Melton, all of Leon; and a brother, Richard Mattox, of Leon.

Junior's life will be remembered on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Jack Yauger Cemetery, in Leon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
