Larry Ronald
Cochran
September 20, 1950 – April 1, 2025
Larry Ronald Cochran, age 74 of Point pleasant, WV passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2025, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Oh.
Larry was born on September 20, 1950, in Williamson, KY, one of eight children to the late Julius and Elouise Brown Cochran.
Besides his parents Larry is preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Dawn Cochran, siblings, Mary Louise Smalley, Johnny Charles Cochran, Janet Faye Hall, Bobby Gene Cochran and Julius Cochran Jr.
Larry was an Army veteran who was honorably retired early in his career due to an accident that caused him to lose his lower left leg. While this was tragic Larry never let it slow him down, he met the love of his life in 1970 and chased her until June 3, 1973, when he and Eva Brown were married and spent the next 51 years together taking care of each other and living life to the fullest.
If you have ever traveled Point Pleasant in the summer months or anytime the weather was nice chances, are you encountered Larry on his red scooter cruising thru town because he was always on the go. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, there wasn't a yard sale that he could pass up or a treasure he couldn't find a use for. He loved to tinker, build and fix things for Larry everything had a use, and he had the patience and skills to work with his hands, make things new again or maybe even find then a new purpose, call it what you will but Larry could always find a way. Larry enjoyed his tinkering and yard sales but the true joy he got was time spent with his grandkids; they were the twinkle in his eye.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Eva Lee Cochran, their two children, Loraine (Anthony) "A.J." Wright and Adam (Daniela) Cochran, six grandchildren Ella and Alyssa Wright, Madaline Cochran and Destiny, Sophia and David. His stepmom, Donna Cochran, one brother, Donnie Cochran a sister Debbie Cochran Staats along with a host of nieces' nephews and friends that will all deeply miss him.
Services for Larry will be Tuesday April 8, 2025, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 until 12:00 and burial will follow at Little Tavie Church Cemetery.
