Obituary

Larry Allen Leonard age 67 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away peacefully on February 24, 2021 at Holzer Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Larry was born November 13, 1953 in Columbus, Oh. to the late David and Alma (Bowden) Leonard. He was a proud graduate of South Point High School  Class of 1971 where he excelled in sports and was a very good football player for the Pointers.

After graduating Larry attended college but found his love in welding and working with his hands and from then on he became a welder, Pipefitter and a proud member of Pipefitters local #577. Larry was adventurous and fun to be around he was a huge football fan, on Saturday's he was all in for his WVU Mountaineers and "Roll Tide" yes he was both a WVU and Bama fan with equal enthusiasm, but should his teams not be on you could count on him still watching the games and cheering for the underdog. Sunday's he would switch to his beloved Brown's as he was a true fan which could help explain his love of the underdog's.

When football season was not in full swing Larry had a love for his family history and has his family tree worked out from now to almost the beginning of time, he was meticulous about it and enjoyed sharing it with his kids and anyone else that may indulge in the subject. Family was important to him, and above all else he loved his kids, grandkids and even got to enjoy his great-grandchildren as well, for all that knew Larry he was a mountain of a man, but he would melt like butter when visiting with the grandchildren.

Besides his parents Larry is preceded in death by two sons; Larry Allen Leonard Jr "Lush" and Stephen Brian Leonard "Frog"

To continue his legacy he leaves his wife, Kim Leonard six children; Jason (Christen) Leonard, Bridgette (Josh) Dunlap, Andrew Leonard, Amanda Leonard, Angelica (Jeremy) Leonard and Anna (Matthew) Weddington eight grand-children; Katelynn (Jeremy) Schultz, James (Alyssa) Leonard, Caleb (Emilee) Eplion, Colton and Gracie Dunlap, Maverick Weddington, Meadow Cochran and Everly Weddington, three great grand-children; Zoey and Chloe Leonard and Parker Schultz one brother, Ronald "The Captain" Leonard his step-mother Earlene Leonard along with a host of family and friends that will all deeply miss him.

- Don't grieve over me too long, I'm not suffering and I will always be with you, if you're feeling sad just picture me here with Lush and Frog catching up and watching over you all-
