Laura Mae Keefer, 85, of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Mason County WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010. In addition to being a loving Mother and Grandmother, she was a retired Factory worker and former nurses' aide. She was an avid glass collector/connoisseur and loved collecting Beanie Babies. She was also a member of the Beech Grove Chapter No. 465 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She was Baptist by faith.
Born June 12, 1925, in Leon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Mont C. and Bessie (Howell) Hill. She was married on October 17, 1942 to the late Calvin Huey Keefer and enjoyed over 66 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, parents and several brothers and sisters, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Campbell and a great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Calvin Ray and Wanda Keefer of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren: Dorinda (Jeff) Sattler of Portage, IN, Devin (Susie) Keefer of Knightstown, IN, Betina (Mike) Beverly of Valparaiso, IN, Todd (Tereasa) Keefer of Rockport, IN, James (Dawn) Keefer of Fairland, IN and Kelli (Charlie) Moore of Indianapolis, IN; ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, five brothers, three sisters and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, in Leon, WV. Visitation will be held at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Saturday for family and one hour before for friends.
