Lawrence Leroy Rice, 86, of Leon, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Holzer Medical Center.  He was retired from the Mason County Schools Maintenance Dept. and attended Leon Community Church.  He was born October 30, 1935, in Leon, a son of the late Lucian D. ad Eva (Plants) Rice.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Clarance Rice; and five sisters, Louise R. Wilford, Margaret Dotson, Grovie Taylor, Hazel Runion, and infant sister, Celestine.

Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine Rice; son, Keith Rice; daughters, Caroline Stephens, of Leon, Gloria Honaker, of Poca, Amy Traylor, of Elliston, VA, and Ellen Rice, of Leon; one special granddaughter he thought of as another child, Tammy Naylor; two great-grandsons, Keith Naylor, of Point Pleasant and Travis Naylor, of Poca; and one great-great-grandson, Jace Naylor, of Poca.

There will be a graveside service, Friday, February 11, 2022, at Yauger Cemetery, in Leon, with Rev. Pete Cobb officiating. Burial will follow.  There will be no visitation.  You may offer condolences to the family via this webpage.
