Lena L McDermitt, age 79, of Henderson, WV, went to be with her Lord September 11, 2013, at Holzer Medical Center, with her family at her side.

Lena was born May 24, 1934 to the late Ronald and Mildred (Darst) Woomer. Besides her parents, Lena is preceded in death by her late husband, Pearl E. McDermitt Sr., one son, Pearl Edward McDermitt Jr., brother, William Woomer, and a sister, Pearl Cole.

Lena retired from Lakin Hospital and attended Point of Faith Church. Lena was a loving mother and she was a very proud grandma that enjoyed spending time with and bragging on her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, son Donnie (Georgina) McDermitt, of Pliny, Wv, daughter; Susie (Marvin) Wooten, of Point Pleasant WV, and Teresa (David) Hereford, of Henderson WV; also surviving are brothers, James Woomer of Henderson WV, and Lewis (Bernice) Woomer of Florida, her pride and joys, 8 grandkids, and 9 great-grandkids; brother and sister in-laws Johnny (Pat) McDermitt, also of Point Pleasant, WV along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation for Lena will be at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Friday September 13, 2013 from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be Saturday September 14, 2013 at the funeral home beginning at 11 A.M. with Pastor Robert Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
