Obituary

Leo K. Vance, 80, of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday evening, August 3, 2010, at his home. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum and was a coal miner, in Boone County. He was a member of Krebs Chapel Church and had attended Evergreen Hills Church. Leo enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching the turkey outside of his bedroom window. He was born December 14, 1929, in Boone County, a son to the late William Osborne and the late Brookie (Harvey) Vance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 58 years, Reba (Lovejoy) Vance; three brothers, Elbert William, Donald and Alonzo Dexter Vance; and two sisters Wilma Vance-Jarrell and Vinnie Vance-Bradley-Lloyd.

Leo is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Virginia (Rhodes) Vance, of Sandyville; two daughters and son-in-law, Janet Louise (Vance) Randolph, of Point Pleasant and Christine (Vance) and Charles Craft, of Gallipolis Ferry; a special son-in-law and his wife, Randy G. and Becky (Sutphin) Randolph; a brother, Harry Goff Vance, of Beckley; a sister Loraine Vance-Horsman, of Bim, WV; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, Rebecca Randolph and Tera Gardner and their son, Brayden Gardner, Randall K. and Meggan (Pauley) Randolph and their children, Tristan, Kirstan, Prestan, Randall, Austan and Braxston, all of Point Pleasant, Brian and Jodie (Zerkle) Craft and their son, Jordan, Kevin Craft, all of Gallipolis Ferry, Bruce and Cathy Craft, of Huntington and their daughter Allie, Jonathan and Courtney (Proctor) Vance and their children, Jasmine and Xavier, of Ripley, Misty (Vance) and Charles Boyd II and their daughter, Hayleigh, of Parkersburg and Christopher Vance and Amber Vance, both of Sandyville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens, in Cottageville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
