On June 18, 2010, Leon Rhodes Parker fell asleep in the peace of Christ. All who knew him felt richly blessed to have him in their lives. We, his family felt especially blessed. Mr. Parker is preceded in death by his wife, Vena Parker; and his brothers, Parris, Donald, Herb, Noel and Arnold Parker.

Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Ruth Parker-Furr; one granddaughter, Brandy Furr; three sisters, Macel Tavaneris, of Akron, OH, Blanche Etter, of Detroit, MI, Mae Sarver, of Spencer, WV; one brother, Robert Parker, of Massilon, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Carl Swisher officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., at Clover Cemetery, in Spencer, WV. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
