Obituary

Lisa Gay Brewer, 64, found her rest January 17, 2026. She went peacefully, surrounded by her children, her grandson, and those closest to her, which she would have had no other way.Lisa was fierce, stubborn, and unapologetically independent—qualities she carried with pride. She loved her children deeply, and she showed that love through her actions every day. While she was not dealt an easy path, Lisa met life with strength, resilience, and an unshakable will to keep going. She did her very best with what she had and made sure her children and grandson were always her top priority.

Family and independence mattered deeply to Lisa. She was known for her strong opinions and her even stronger voice—she said exactly what she thought, stood her ground, and never backed down, no matter the struggle in front of her. If you knew Lisa, you knew where she stood.
Lisa is survived by her children: Robert Steven Brewer (Brittany Brewer), Donald Ray Metz (James Lockheart), and Ariel Nicole Brewer (Allen Jordan); and her grandson, Jayce Silas Brewer, and life companion, Donald Metz, II.

In death, Lisa is reunited with her mother Anna-Mae Wright, her father Vernon Dean "Dizzy" Lee her sisters Sue McCoy and Sandy Bright, her brothers Richard Lee, Butch Bright and her brother Vernon Wesley Lee, whom always held a place in her heart and mind.

Lisa leaves behind a legacy of strength, honesty, perseverance, and deep devotion to her family. She lived life on her own terms, spoke her truth without apology, and leaves an impact that will continue through the family she loved and fought for. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

There will be a celebration of Lisa's life at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family has asked that you wear your favorite rock t-shirt and jeans, as that is what Lisa would have wanted. They have also asked for no phones or pictures taken. Additionally, they have also requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses. You may offer condolences to the family via this webpage.
