Louiza Maxine (Thornton) Hatfield, 77, formerly of Leon, WV, passed away on Thursday , May 3, 2012, at Logan Elm Nursing Center, in Circleville, Ohio. She was retired from Pleasant Valley Hospital, having worked there for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union. She was born April 20, 1935, in Leon, a daughter to the late Raymond and Ethel (McDade) Thornton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hatfield; her daughter, Barbara Hope DeLong; her grandchildren, Joya Dawn (Hatfield) Wilson and Charles Robert Hatfield, Jr.; her brothers, Howard "Ray" Thornton, Ervin "Johnny" Thomas, Gerald Thornton and Larry Thornton; and her sisters, Macel Stone, Iona Miller, Noreta "Eileen" Clonch, Katherine Thornton and Caroline Thomas.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Marvin) Rollins and Charles Hatfield; step-daughter, Betty Jane Reese; grandchildren, Heather Mullins and Cynthia Webb; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald "Biggie" Thornton; sister, Anita "Evalee" McKinney; and special niece, Melinda Rollins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Leon, with Rev. Nancy Hamm officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
