Luella (Boswell) Keefer, 93, of Leon, passed into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Weststone Gardens and Rehab Center, in Columbus, Ohio. She was a retired educator in Mason County Schools, having taught all of those years at Leon Elementary School. She was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary and the Mason County CEOS. Luella was a faithful member of the Leon Baptist Church, where she directed the choir for many years and taught Sunday School. She was born on November 3, 1922, in Leon, a daughter to the late William and Rosa (Carney) Boswell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. Keefer and her brothers and sisters.
Luella is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Matheny, of Reynoldsburg, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Nancy Keefer, of Charleston; grandchildren, Tim Matheny, Russ Matheny, Mike and Kristen Matheny, Brent and Sheri Matheny, Melissa Thornhill and Amanda and Justin Peterson; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Luella's life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016, at the Leon Baptist Church, with Rev. Fred Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Leon Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
