Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth (Jones) Hutchins, 90, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2009, at Riverside Hospice, Kobacker House, in Columbus, Ohio. A long time resident of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, she recently lived in Columbus, Ohio at Mayfair Village Retirement Center to be near family.

She was born in 1918, to C. Arthur and Lina (Snellgrove) Jones in Windsor, Vermont. She was a graduate of Windsor, Vermont High School where she lettered in basketball, field hockey and tennis. She attended Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island and worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Windsor, Vermont and Hayes Aircraft Industries, Jackson, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 50 years, Harvey A. Hutchins, whom she married in 1938 and brother, Norman S. Jones. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Maggie (Roush) Hutchins and a beloved grandson, Matthew Hutchins, Dublin, Ohio, sisters-in-law, Margaret S. Jones of Plains, Montana and Nancy Hazen of North Hero, Vermont and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church, Point Pleasant, West Virginia where she served most recently as correspondence secretary. She was chosen Volunteer of the Year in 1999 at Pleasant Valley Hospital and recognized by Tu-Endie-Wei Garden Club and city of Point Pleasant for "yard of the month" honors on several occasions.

Margaret enjoyed nature, reading, bridge and conservation efforts, along with the early service Sunday lunch group.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 18, 2009, at 3 P.M. at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with the Father Ray Hage of Christ Episcopal Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 until 5 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Vermont.
