Margaret (Ricks) Lambert, 87, of Ashton, West Virginia, was ushered into the presence of the Lord and her husband Bill, on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. She was a retired postmaster of 32 years at the Ashton Post Office; a member of the Milton Free Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Pleasant Valley Hospital, where she had been a former president of the Auxillary ; she was a graduate of Sinkenfork High School and a former resident of Gracy, Kentucky.
She was born, on September 30, 1921, in Gracy, Kentucky to the late James Calvin and Sally (Russell) Ricks. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Woodrow Lambert who died on January 25, 2009 and five brothers, Fred, Jack, Frank, Hugh and Bob Ricks.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Reverend James Bolen of Barboursville, West Virginia; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Patrick and Veva Lambert of Huntington, West Virginia and Michael Lambert of Apple Grove, West Virginia; one sister, Sarah and Landon Hope of Trumann, Arkansas; one brother, Charles and Marie Ricks of Crofton, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren;three great-great grandchildren and special friends, Jerry and Mary Byus.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Reverend James Bolen, officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, near Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 until 7 P.M., Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
