Mark Alan
Banks
May 3, 1958 — Sep 11, 2026
Point Pleasant
Mark Alan Banks, 68, of Point Pleasant is walking the streets of gold! He passed from this life to be in the arms of Jesus on September 11, 2026, at his home, with his loving wife by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mark was born on May 3,1958 to Rev. Wm. (Bill) and Mildred (Peters) Banks in Gallipolis, Ohio
He was a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant and a 1976 graduate of Point Pleasant High School.
Mark gave his life to the Lord on May 29,1991 and was a charter member of The Point of Faith church in Point Pleasant. He was retired from R&L Carriers where he worked for 30 years.
Mark married his "best buddy" Joyce (Woodall) Banks and spent nearly 40 years together
Mark was an avid lover of the outdoors and his passions were hunting and fishing and every sport under the sun. He was a walking sports encyclopedia and could answer any question especially if it was about his favorite team the Greenbay Packers.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy and a son, Chad. He is survived by his wife Joyce, sons, Michael (Tara) and Matthew (Bethany) and his grandchildren, Caitlin, Abby, and his little buddy Silas, his brothers, Doug and Troy (Teresa). And many nieces and nephews.
Mark will be laid to rest beside his parents at Suncrest Cemetary in Point Pleasant.
Visitation will be at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, on Saturday, September 19, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the funeral following at 1:00, with Pastor Mark Mayes and Pastor Brian Ross officiating. Pallbearers will be: Michael Woodall, Matthew King, Justin Sheline, Johnathan Bonecutter, Dave Bonecutter, and Devin Walker.
Mark's family would like to give a special thanks to Huntington Hospice and Holzer Cancer Center and Holzer CCU for the wonderful care during his battle. A special thank you to Hailee at the cancer center who always called to check on her buddy
We also want to thank our church family at Point of Faith Church for their constant love and support and mostly their prayers-- it was prayer that sustained us through this journey. And last but not least, the staff at Point Pleasant Primary School who was everpresent in our lives and gave us much love and support.
