Marquitta Kay Boswell (Bass), age 62, of Mason, WV, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and friends, on Monday, December 18, 2023.

She was born July 11, 1961, in Gallipolis, OH, and was the daughter of the late Edward "Bucky" and Ellen Bass.

Kay was a hard working independent woman with a free spirit. She worked many jobs in her lifetime, from a mechanic, to the Mason Motel, and for many years she worked at The Clements Tree Nursery, and anyone you would ask would tell you the same, she was a hard worker and could hold her own at any task she was given.

Before her family days she even spent some time as a pro wrestler, going by the name Indian Summer.

Surviving she leaves behind two daughters,  Latasha (Scotty) Waugh of Glenwood, WV and Skyla King (Timmy Jeffers) of New Haven, WV; grandkids, Drenean King, Darrian King, Madison Waugh and Bralie "Bug" Waugh; siblings, Holly Chapman and Robert & Rodney Cornell; her special companion, Charles Stutes; and her biological mother, Barbara (Bass) Cornell.

There will be a memorial service at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2023, with visitation from 6-8 with services beginning at 8pm, officiated by Pastor Robert Patterson II.
