Mary E. Lieving, 87, a resident of Holzer Assisted Living, in Gallipolis, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland H. Lieving; her parents, Raymond Cundiff and Carol Cundiff Burns; and her only sibling, Freda Deweese.
She is survived by five children; Raymond (Vikki) Lieving, Leland (Nancy) Lieving, Jr., Patti (Raymond) Fillinger, Beverly (Roger) Schultz and David (Connie) Lieving; twelve grandchildren, Renee Lieving, Carla Young, Brian Lieving, Brooke Young, Anthony Lieving, Ami Williams, Bradd Schultz, Brent Schultz, Adam Schultz, Shawn Lieving, Ben Lieving and Tim Lieving; twelve great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Norman (Cleo) Lieving; sister-in-law, Barbara (Bill) Wood and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was a nurse aide at Pleasant Valley Hospital for many years. After retirement, she served over 6,000 hours as a volunteer at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was also a member of the First Church of God, in Point Pleasant.
Mary will be remembered as a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Her positive spirit, derived from her deep rooted faith in Jesus Christ, was an inspiration to those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastors Carl Swisher and Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be granddaughter, Ami Williams.
