Mary (Northup) Lynch Morrison gained her wings and moved to her Heavenly Home on May 4, 2021 at Holzer Assisted Living, where she had been a resident for more than three years. She was born a seventh daughter to Virgil and Goldie Sanders Northup on April 23, 1919 in Gallia County, Ohio overlooking the Ohio River on Racoon Creek.
Mary was predeceased by her parents; six siblings; first husband, Carl E Lynch Jr; son, Carl E Lynch III; daughter, Janis Lynch Sauvage; and second husband, Warren H. Morrison.
She is survived by daughter, Suzanne Lynch (David) Dickens, of Point Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Trudy Lynch Evans of Washington State; 6 grandchildren-Jennifer R. (Rick) Compton, Kimberly (Aaron) Magner, Alexander (Stephanie) Dickens, Tami (Jeremy) Brown, Matt (Joanna) Sauvage, Carla (Jeff) Snell and 16 great grandchildren.
Mary, by profession, was a Registered Nurse being Holzer School of Nursing's oldest living graduate at the time of her death. Professionally, she worked at Holzer Hospital, Ohio State University Hospitals, Pleasant Valley Hospital, Mason County Health Department and on foreign mission fields in her 60 plus year nursing career. Mary was a long-time active member of Heights United Methodist Church where she served as choir member, pianist, organist, Sunday School Teacher, VBS worker and member of the United Methodist Women. Gratitude is expressed by the family for the loving care provided by the Holzer Assisted Living family and to Holzer Hospice for compassionate care in her last days on Earth.
At her request, there will be no public service. Private services will be held at Kirkland Memorial Gardens at 2:00 on May 6, 2021. Memorials in Mary's memory may be sent to Heights United Methodist Church Prayer Garden Fund, 2016 North Main, Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
