Mary Katherine (Higginbotham) Tucker, 90, of Point Pleasant, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, in Huntington, surrounded by her loving family. She was a homemaker and had attended Oma Chapel Church. She was also a cook in the Mason County Schools and had worked at the Post Office in Grimm's Landing.
Mary was born on July 4, 1926, in Grimm's Landing, a daughter to the late Elben Reuben "Bud" and Molindia (Oldaker) Higginbotham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Tucker; daughter, Anita Diane Thomas; and her siblings and their spouses, Charles and Edna Higginbotham, Johnny and Faye Higginbotham and Stella Masil Higginbotham.
Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Brenda Tucker, of Rockledge, FL, Eddy and Terri Tucker, of Columbus, OH, Noland and Linda Tucker, of Eleanor, WV; daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Leo Buck and Kathy Wise, all of Point Pleasant; special daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jim Rothwell, of Whitehall, OH; grandchildren, Chuck, Martha, Paige, Brian, Heath, Heather, Jeff, Mendy, Elizabeth, Alicia and Sara; 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary's life will be remembered at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2017, at Oma Chapel Church, with Rev. Randy Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Tucker Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Monday morning for the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the funeral home to offset expenses, or to the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, in Mary's memory. The family also wishes to thank the staff of the Emogene Dolin Hospice House for their wonderful love and compassion shown to them during this time.
