Mathew P. Shaffer, 17, of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant. He was a Junior at Point Pleasant High School and was employed at Little Caesar's Pizza. He had many friends and was loved by all that knew him.

Born, August 2, 1990, in Monterey Park, California, he was the son of the late Gregorio Anthony Duran. In addition, to his father he was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Leonard Joe and Kyletta Marie Shaffer, Jr., and one brother, Nicolas David Talada.

He is survived by his mother, Kelly (Shaffer) Talada and his step-father, Joseph Robert David Talada, both of Point Pleasant; three brothers, Jacob and Joshua Shaffer, Alexander Christopher Talada and one sister Meagan Talada all at home; godmothers, Jodie Davis and Regina Lewis; paternal grandparents, David and Susan Talada of Montgomery, Pennsylvania; great-grandparents, David and Molly Talada of Montoursville, Pennsylvania and Vera Kennelly of Montgomery, Pennsylvania; an aunt, Katherine Talada and great-great aunt Della Herring, both of Montoursville, Pennsylvania.

There will be a Celebration of Mathew's Life, at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Pastor Jamie Watts, officiating. There will be no visitation.
