Matthew Irwin Palmer, age 57, of Gallipolis, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2026, at Holzer Medical Center. He was born July 16, 1968, a son of the late Phillip Palmer and Mildred Irene (Mullins). In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Julian S. Palmer and Steven E. Palmer.

Matthew is survived by his children, Matthew (Amanda) Palmer, of Bidwell, Destiny Palmer, of Dayton, Joshua (Kayla) Palmer, of Portsmouth, Dillon Palmer, of Springfield, Nick Palmer, of Gallipolis, and Monica Palmer, of Youngstown; several grandchildren; sister, Tamara L. Palmer, of Gallipolis; brother, Phillip Palmer, of Columbus; step-father, Walter Patterson; many nieces, nephews and extended family; as well as his family and friends at Arbors of Gallipolis.

There will be a visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a graveside service at the Patterson-Clonch Cemetery, in Gallipolis Ferry.
