Maude Atkinson age 88 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at Holzer Senior Care Center in Gallipolis, Oh.

Maude was born, February 9, 1927 in Robbinsville, NC., to the late James Pearl and Nancy Arizona (Jenkins) Carringer. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, David Cody Atkinson, six brothers, and five sisters.

Maude was a very kind and hard working woman that loved her family and took great pride in her work. She spent many years working for Holzer hospital as a dorm mother in the school of nursing and after the school closed she continued working as a cook in the Dietary Department until she retired.

Maude was a member of Concord Baptist Church, and enjoyed her time working and fellowshipping with her church family.

She is survived by her two sons; David (Teresa) Atkinson Jr. and Charles "Kip" (Jodie) Atkinson of Point Pleasant, WV., five daughters; Grace (Kermit) Tolbert of Sissonville, WV., Yvonne (Steve) Pearson of Henderson, WV., Vickie (Jeffery) Pullin of Letart, WV., Norma (Kenny) Caldwell of Gallipolis, Oh., and Donna (Lee) Martina of Hurricane, WV. also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services for Maude will be Monday March 2, 2015 at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with visitation starting at 11 A.M. the funeral services officiated by Rev. Jason Thomas and Rev. Fred McCallister will follow at 1 P.M. burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in Henderson, WV.
