Michael Lynn Rodgers, 76, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 16, 1949, in Mason, to the late William “Wert” Rodgers and Goldie Mae “Berkley” Smith. Mike proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion, Mason County Post #23, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #31. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others. Mike loved horses, attending car shows, singing karaoke, and volunteering at the Mason County Fair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Billy Smith; siblings, Joanne Hacker, Robert Emmis, Beulah Smith, and Bonnie Stewart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, DeeDee Rodgers; children, JD (Maggie) Durst and Caitlyn Durst; sister, Betty Smith; special nephew, Denny Smith; mother-in-law, Phyllis Sword; devoted friend, David Byus; karaoke bud, Joe Forbes; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
There will be a funeral service at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, where military graveside honors will be rendered. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
