Mildred Mae (Smith) Young, 88, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday evening, September 15, 2010, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker.

Mildred was born February 2, 1922, in Davy, WV, a daughter to the late Lillard Sit and Mary (Skully) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Young; her son, Willie Howell and her sister, Hazel Whitt.

She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Evelyn Howell and Millie Howell, all of North Carolina; and also her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Ted Nance officiating. Burial will follow at Moore's Chapel Cemetery, Ashton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
