Molly Kate Park of Point Pleasant, passed away on the morning of November 7, 2024. She was born November 15, 1934, in Huntington, WV. She was the daughter of Otis Srtibling Young and Cora Meredith Young. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jack Blount Park. Molly graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1951, She then went on to earn her bachelor's and a master's degree from Marshall University.  She taught Social Studies at Point Pleasant High School for thirty-five years from 1968 until she retired in 2002.

Molly was a strong advocate for public education and the teaching profession in West Virginia. She served as president of the Tu-Endie-Wei Garden Club twice. Molly watered the flowers every summer in downtown Point Pleasant and was a founding member of the Point Pleasant in Bloom organization.

She was the Treasury Secretary of the Mason County Democratic Women's organization. Molly enjoyed an independent and active life.

She is survived by her son Jackson Andrew Park of Charleston, WV, her daughter Victoria Kate (Glen) Anderson of Chillicothe, OH; and her brother Otis S Young Jr. of Gallipolis, OH. She had three beloved grandchildren; Andrea Leigh (Jeremy) Conley of Dublin, OH; Elizabeth Kate Schopis and Kai Schopis both of Columbus, OH. Two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jack Conley were the light of her life. Her dog Fritz also held a special place in her heart.

There will be a celebration of Life on Friday November 15, 2024, from 7p.m. until 9 p.m. at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with refreshments provided.
