Monty Wayne Pearson age 71, of Henderson, WV., passed away peacefully early Saturday October 8, 2022. at his home surrounded by family.
Monty was born in Gallipolis, OH . on November 20, 1950 to the late Landis West and Helen D. Rogers Pearson. After graduating high school Monty proudly served his country abroad in the United States Army, upon returning home he fulfilled the promise he had made to Sarah, the love of his life that they would start a family and he would never be gone again.
Monty was the kind of man that to know him was to like him, he was a very kind man that just could see and bring out the good in everyone he encountered.
He worked at M&G Polymers in Gallipolis Ferry, WV., and retired there as a Maintenance Manager, when he was not working Monty was an avid Outdoorsman and a dedicated family man that loved his wife and family, he was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids he enjoyed every minute he got to spend with them. Monty was a member and served as an Elder at the Church of Christ in Henderson, WV., he loved and considered his church family, just that family. He was also a true Mountaineer sports fan.
Monty is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Douglas Childers.
Surviving Monty leaves behind his loving wife Sarah Flowers Pearson, their children, Monte Wayne Pearson, William West (Cherie') Pearson and Monica Paige (Carl D.) Baker, a brother; Stephen (Yvonne) Pearson, sister; Joan Childers, also surviving are his grandchildren: Wyatt West Pearson, Colton Randolph Pearson, Dryden Pearson, Tristan Michial Pearson, Brody Wayne Pearson, Carl West Baker and Hannah Dawn Baker along with several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Services for Monty will be Tuesday October 11, 2022. There will be visitation at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home from 11:30 to 1:00 PM. Funeral services by Pastor Bill Deem will be conducted at the graveside in Kirkland Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Mason, WV., VFW Post 9926 .
