Nina Jane Richmond Syx, 88, of Wellston, Ohio received her heavenly wings on April 10th, 2024 after suffering with multiple illnesses.  Nina was born on June 30th, 1935 to John and Ora Richmond in Redhouse, WV.

Nina had a successful wood crafting business for many years prior to retiring several years ago due to health issues.  Prior to that, she worked numerous jobs including working as a waitress, a prepare girl at a shoe factory, and in a plastics factory to mention a few.

Nina met her first husband, Roy Taylor in Point Pleasant, WV and followed him to the Marine Corps Base in Camp Lejeune, NC at 18.  Though their marriage did not last, five children came about.  She met her second husband, C. Albert Syx in Columbus, Ohio.  After meeting, they married in Fredericksburg, VA.  Their marriage lasted until Albert's death.  As the wife of two Armed Forces veterans and the mother of three children who served in the U.S. Navy, resulted in her being a very patriotic person.

Nina is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Taylor Woleslagle (John) of Hubert, NC; Son, Roy (Joe) J. Taylor II of Columbus, OH; and a sister, Maxine Simpkins of Mason, WV, numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, John Francis Richmond and Ora Cecile Fleeman Richmond; Siblings: Leon Richmond, Barbara Richmond Altheide, and Thelma Richmond Mattox; sons Charles (Chuck) Louis Taylor and John (Pat) Francis Taylor, and daughter, Tina Louise Taylor.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Nina's life at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home from 12:00 to  2:00 on Saturday April 27, 2024, burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
