Obituary

Norma "Sis" Virginia (Buffington) Sturgeon, 91, of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Belle's Residential Board and Care Home, St. Albans, West Virginia. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. She was also a member of the Point Pleasant Chapter #75 Order of the Eastern Star. Born, May 8, 1916, in Cincinnati, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Everett Earl and Florence (Roush) Buffington. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brooklyn "Brookie" Sturgeon and two brothers Joseph and William R. Buffington.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Brooklyn Jr. and Gay Sturgeon of Spring Hope, NC and William Joseph and Sara Sturgeon of Orrville, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Lee and Gerald Hager of Winfield, WV; five grandchildren, Jenny Rebecca Staelin of Orinda, California, Walter Buffington "Buddy" Sturgeon of New Durham, NH, Stephanie Jo Strauch of Chillicothe, Ohio, Brian Lee Hager of Richmond, VA and Kathryn Anne "Katie" Fiorvante of Virginia Beach, VA; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Claudia Sturgeon of New Durham, NH, Lauren Elizabeth Staelin and Steven David Staelin both of Orinda, California and Ella Kathryn Strauch of Chillicothe, Ohio. The family would like to give a very special "thank you" to the ladies at Belle's Personal Care Home in St. Albans. They have taken such good care of Mom all these years.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Rev. Richard DeQuasie officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, near Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
