Oliver Allen Sayre, 81 years old, of Point Pleasant, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, early Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at his home.  He was born August 11, 1939 in Cottageville, Jackson County, WV, to Henry Oliver Sayre and Stella Click.  He as preceded in death by his mother, Stella, father Henry, step-father Richard Sayre, and grandmother who helped raise him, Anna Click; half brother Warren Sayre; grandson Samuel Steadman; sister-in-laws Judy Kay, Pamela McGuffin and Harriet McGuffin; nephew, Thomas McGuffin; and extended family.  He was a PPHS graduate of 1957. He retired in 1992 from C&P Telephone, as a cable maintenance specialist after 35 years. He attended the First Church of God, in Point Pleasant.

Allen is survived by wife of 62 years, Janice Fae (McGuffin) Sayre; daughters, Teresa (Steve) Jarvis and Lori (Bill) Steadman; grandchildren, Hannah (Ethan) Bauer, Erica (Jacob) Gipson, Michaela (Gavin) Suver, and Anna Steadman; great grandchildren, Jarvis Bauer, Ezekiel Bauer, Ireland Bauer, Oliver Gipson, Simon Gipson, Norah Suver, (soon to be born) Janie Suver; half siblings, Jeanne Oberg, Raymond (Katie) Sayre, Dorothy (Paul) Grimm; his brother-in-law, Thomas McGuffin, MD; and extended family.

Allen's life will be remembered at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson and Rev. Carl "Boxer" Swisher officiating.  Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  The family has requested that rather than flowers, contributions in Allen's memory be made to the First Church of God Building Fund, 2401 Jefferson Avenue, Point Pleasant, WV, 25550.
