Obituary

Owens A. Corfee, 90, of Leon, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 26, 2011, at Hickory Creek of Athens, in The Plains, Ohio. Owens was retired from the railroad and he enjoyed playing bluegrass music. Born December 27, 1920, in Leon, he was a son to the late Herbert and Clara (Stutler) Corfee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie M. (Fizer) Corfee.

Owens is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tex and Jackie Corfee, of Leon; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Hogan, of Mason, Ohio, Barbara and Jody Neece, of Langsville, Ohio, Wanda Corfee, of The Plains, Ohio and Sherri and Phil Hagan, of New Jersey; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Oldaker, of Columbus, Ohio.

Owens' life will be remembered at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnny Hayman officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leon, where Masonic Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Kanawha Valley Minturn Lodge #36 A.F. & A.M. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, October 28, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
