Obituary

Morgan Center - Paul Randall Hersman has gone on to be with his Lord in Heaven. His journey in this life has ended.

Paul passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Paul was born on May 7, 1935, to Rev. William (Bill) Hersman and Clara Oma Flora Hersman (the 4th of 9 children) in Bidwell, Ohio.

On February 5, 1955, Paul married Frances Marie Russell, the "Love of his Life."

Paul began working at the young age of 17, where he began his career working construction for the Ringwell company. After a few years with Ringwell, Paul traveled to Piketon where he was a member of the atomic plant construction team. Once his work at Piketon was finished, Paul decided to return to Ringwell where he continued to work construction, contributing to many interstates spanning from Ohio to Florida. While on the road, Paul and Frances experienced many adventures, including the birth of their two daughters, Paula and Robin. After beginning their family, Paul and Frances moved back home to Bidwell, Ohio, to settle down. Paul then worked at Carter & Evans, where he worked as a foreman until his final job before retirement at S.O.C.C.O. mine #2.

Paul and his childhood best friend/ partner in crime, Clarence "Shug" Hash, never shied away from an adventure. Whether it be hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, or tracking down yellow root, Paul and Shug were always on the go.

Paul is survived by two daughters- Paula (Don) Justus and Robin (Jimmy) Skidmore. Four grandchildren - Scott (Andrea) Justus, Jennifer (Bill) Black, Tim (Bri) Cremeens and Kari Justus. Seven great-grandchildren - Jordyn (Cody Adams) Gardner, Bradyn Gardner, McKeehan Justus, Remee, Rylan and Ryker Cremeens. One brother- Donnie Hersman of Port Isabel, Texas, and one sister- Martha McComas of Vinton, Ohio. Five brothers-in-law- Woodrow (Velma) Russell, Loren (Butch/Lisa) Russell, Larry (Marlene) Russell, Rev. Teddy (Mildred) Russell and Terry (Tammy) Russell.

Proceeding him in death are his two brothers- Cecil (Naomi) Hersman and Rev. Robert (Diane) Hersman. Four sisters- Opal (Charles) Bailey, Violet Taylor, Mary Amos and Ester Hersman. One great-granddaughter- Keli-Abigail Dawn "Abby" Justus. One brother-in-law- Hayward McComas and two sisters-in-law- Lonora (Harvey) Burnett and Daisy (Everett) Kemper.

A grave-side service will be held at Morgan Center Cemetery at 2pm on April 2, 2025.
