Paul R. Somerville Jr., 96, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024.

A dedicated member of his community, Paul was actively involved in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the American Legion, and the Beni Kedem Shriners Club. He also served as a past director on the board of Peoples Bank and was a proud U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul R. and Virginia D. Somerville, of Point Pleasant, and his sister, Mary E. Ingels, of New Haven, WV.

A successful entrepreneur, Paul owned and operated several local businesses, including I & S Grocery Store, The Econowash Laundromat in New Haven, and Somerville Motors in Point Pleasant.

He also served his community as a State Farm Insurance agent for 35 years.

Paul was an avid golfer and one of the original founders of Hidden Valley Country Club in Point Pleasant.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ty and June Somerville, of Henderson, WV; his daughter, Paula Somerville, of Port Orange, FL; his grandchildren, Taylor Somerville Willford (Travis), and Alex Somerville (Lexy); and great-grandchildren Olivia Rae, Cameron James Somerville, and Gianna Elle Willford, all of Point Pleasant.

Arrangements are being handled by Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. A celebration of Paul's life will be announced by the family at a later date.
