Pauline ' Polly ' Nibert Burris went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 25, 1923 to the late Hayward and Olga Jane Ball Nibert at Gallipolis Ferry, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Everett Burris and their two infants, Richard Everett and Shirley Ann.
Know affectionately as 'Polly' she was a sister to three brothers; 'Bus', Raymond and Harry Nibert, all deceased. Also, deceased is a sister, Irene Rainey, who was her lifelong best friend.
She is survived by a son, Jackie Burris and his wife, Claudia of Apple Grove, WV and by a daughter, Sharon and her husband Harry Albaugh, Jr. of Shady Spring, WV.
She was a loving 'MaMa' to five grandchildren; Diana, and her husband Peter Hornbeck of Masontown, WV; Todd Albaugh and his wife Jennifer of Camp Creek, WV; Brent Albaugh and his wife Benetta of Greenville, SC; Chris Burris of Letart, WV and Travis Burris of Apple Grove, WV.
She has two beloved great-grandchildren, Shanleigh and her husband, Matt Flagg of Masontown, WV and Ryan Albaugh of Camp Creek, WV.
She is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Cooke of New Haven, WV and June Seeds of Hillard, Ohio. Also surviving are twelve nieces and seven nephews.
She began married life with her husband in Killeen, TX and later lived in Gallipolis, Ohio, but spent most of their lives in Point Pleasant. Sixteen years ago, they moved to White Oak, WV near their daughter and son-in-law.
Some of her favorite pleasures were traveling with family, shopping with her daughter, reminiscing about old times with her sisters and friend Charlotte and cousin Doris. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In May of 2010 she became a resident of PVNRC in Point Pleasant, where she enjoyed the visits of friends and relatives in the area. There she became good friends with her roommate, Lana.
Her church membership was at Grace Baptist Church of Point Pleasant, but she attended the First Baptist Church of Shady Spring, WV.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Bob Patterson, officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1 p.m. the day of the service.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
