Phillip Stanley Purcell, 80, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was a retired LPN, after retiring from Pleasant Valley Hospital, with 40 years of service. He was a proud U,S. Marine Corps veteran, and member of the American Legion, and the National Rifle Association.

He was born on August 24, 1942, in Kensington, MD, a son to the late Stanley D. and Malissa Myrl (Phillips) Purcell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jacob Phillip Purcell; and his sister, Elizabeth Dale Purcell.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Adelina (Benedicto) Purcell; daughter and son-in-law, Angelica (Mark) Tatterson, of Vienna, WV; daughter-in-law, Leslie Purcell, of Julian, PA; grandchildren, Liam Phillip Purcell. Cassidy Ann Purcell, Claire Elyse Tatterson and Camille Elizabeth Tatterson; sister, Myrilyn Barr, of Kensington, MD; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

There will be a graveside service, with military honors, at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., also on Tuesday. You may offer condolences to the family via this webpage.
