Phyllis Ann Whittington
May 9, 1935 - November 6, 2021
Ms. Phyllis Ann Whittington of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, was called to Heaven Saturday, November 6
th
, 2021. Known better as Mom, Mamaw, Sister, Aunt Dickie, she left us with a smile and a wink, a true testament to the woman with the heart of gold and the soul of an angel.
There wasn't a person who passed Phyllis's path that wasn't somehow touched by her warmth, her wit, and her indominable spirit. Her family, both of blood and extension, will feel the hole that Phyllis leaves behind, but know too, that her grace now follows us from above wherever we may go. Phyllis was deeply devoted to her family, and shared an amazing bond with her sister and her best friend, Mary (Ken), and her brothers, Jim (Erma) and Trig (Paula). Phyllis had a magical love for her children. Her daughter Leslie (Jerry) was never far from her side, her constant companion, her child, her mentor and friend. She is preceded in death by her son Trev (Julie), who was there to greet her as she walked into Heaven. The relationship that Phyllis had with her children was one fused together tighter than any one person could imagine, and no one could ever break. Phyllis's heart was also surrounded in love by her granddaughters Krista (Bill) and Liz (David), and Great-Granddaughter, Gillianne (Ford). Her family was expanded in love by her nieces and nephews, all of which made up pieces of her golden heart and by the many friends who were blessed to have met this amazing woman.
A small celebration of life will be held Wednesday November 10, 2021 at 7:00 visitation will be one hour prior for family at a private location.
Phyllis believed in kindness, love and sharing a twinkle in her eyes and that sly little grin, and nothing could honor her memory more than to take a close friend or relative out for coffee, lunch or dinner and SMILE. She will be there.
