Preston Blankenship, age 83, of  Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice Center, in Whiteville, NC.

With heavy hearts and sadness we say goodbye to one of our Army Sargent E7 Heros, Preston Eugene Blankenship. Thank you for your service, Brother "Prezz" You have now joined your band of brothers in Heaven. "Gone but not forgotten" You are sadly missed and loved by your whole family.. Rest in Peace Sweetheart.

Preston is preceded in death by his parents Okey Pearl and Virginia Ann Blankenship and siblings; Okey Jr., Joanne, George, Rachel, Betty, Johnny, Terrence, David and Roger.

He is survived by his sons; Brian and Derek Blankenship and their mother, Janet Lewis Blankenship of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, his wife and her children, Carol Blankenship, Aaron Watterson and Heather Hiestand, grandchildren; Chelsea Watterson, Brysen Regger, Keisley King and Katerina Hiestand, great-grandchildren; Aleea Watterson, Kayden Christian and Kylie, two sisters Margaret Lynn Lewis of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Wendy Dian Meadows of Orange Park, FL his special friend, Julie Anderton and his fur baby Mocha.

Services for Preston will be Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 2:00, and visitation from 12:00 until 2:00. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery, in Point Pleasant, with full Military Honors.
