Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ralph Clark, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ralph passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023.

Ralph was born October 28, 1942, in Letart, West Virginia, to Lawrence Clark and Estyl Roush Clark. Ralph lived a full and meaningful life, marked by his passion for sports and dedication to his family and friends. He loved to hunt, fish and play golf. He excelled in baseball, basketball and football. He was scouted by the MLB who had high hopes for his future in the sport. Despite the attention he received from MLB scouts, Ralph ultimately chose to pursue a career at Goodyear where he worked for an impressive 40 years and made many lasting friendships.

Ralph was also devoted to coaching youth baseball and basketball, passing on his knowledge and love of the game to the next generation. He was always eager to help young players improve their skills and grow as individuals.

Beyond his love for sports, Ralph was known for his kindness and generosity towards animals of all kinds, often taking in strays and caring for them as his own.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Sue Clark, his son Rich (Anna)Clark of Belpre, OH, his brother Dorwin Clark of New Haven, and Gordon  (Michelle) Clark of West Columbia, his sister Phyllis Fetty of Point Pleasant, sister-in-law Sally Clark of West Columbia, stepdaughter Cathy (Mike) Markovich of Waldorf, MD as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished dearly.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Carson, his brothers Melvin Clark, Gerald Clark, and Leland Clark, and his sisters Judy Marks and Eileen Fields.
