October 23, 1956 – August 15, 2023
Randy Warner 66, of Arbuckle WV, passed away Tuesday August 15, 2023, fighting a valiant battle with Cancer. He was the victor in this battle and won on this day. He is celebrating with his youngest son Brandon in heaven.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Genevieve Warner, and his son youngest Brandon Warner.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years or as he would say 75 years!!! Libby Kay Warner" Bailey". Sons, Randy J. Warner II of Saint Albans, and Herman "Matthew" Warner of Arbuckle, daughter in law Olivia Warner of Cincinnati. Grandchildren Randy J Warner III, "Trey". Justice Warner, Kennedy Warner, Layla St Onge, Kolin Warner, and Baby Brooks. Brother Steve Warner and Wife Teresa, of Point Pleasant
Randy was a loving and giving man who took pride in helping others and giving back to his community. He offered countless years of service to the youth of Mason County, mentoring as a youth football coach for the Mason County Golden Eagles football team, several Mason County Little League baseball teams along with managing the Mason County American Legion baseball team.
He also helped with the Leon Lions youth wrestling teams.
Growing up he was a gifted athlete who excelled in baseball and football. He was inducted into the Kyger Creek Little League tournament Hall of Fame for throwing a no hitter. He set several pitching records at Point Pleasant High School. He was inducted into the Point Pleasant High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and went on to play baseball at West Virginia State College.
He was an avid sports fan and loved his West Virginia University Mountaineers and Cincinnati Reds. He loved golfing and deer hunting in his spare time. He spent 30 years working in sales and 10 years working for IGT.
Randy was a Christian and a member of the Jackson Avenue Baptist Church. Randy's love for his family will go unmatched and he will be missed endlessly. He was loved by many as his personality and smile would light up any room. He never met a stranger and loved conversations and cracking jokes with all.
As sad as we all are, we are also smiling because we know he is now rejoicing in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations, for the Brandon Warner Memorial scholarship fund at the Ohio Valley Bank at: 328 Viand St. Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
Visitation will be Saturday August 19, 2023, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. at Crow Hussell Funeral Home Pt Pleasant WV. Funeral service will be Sunday August 20,2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Crow Hussell Funeral Home. Services will be officiated by Joe Nott and burial will follow in Leon Cemetery.
