Reba Mae (Lovejoy) Vance, 77, of Point Pleasant, died early Thursday morning, November 22, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. She was a homemaker and had attended Evergreen Hills Church and was a member of Krebs Chapel Church. She had loved angels and we rejoice because now she is one. She also loved making crafts with beads.
Born, September 21, 1930, in Saint Albans, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Burdett) Lovejoy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Frances (Lovejoy) Sowards and Marcella (Lovejoy) Thacker of Hurricane, West Virginia.
Surviving are her loving husband, Leo K. Vance, of 58 years; a son, Gerald Vance and wife Virginia (Rhodes) of Sandyville, West Virginia; two daughters, Janet Louise (Vance) Randolph of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and Christine (Vance) and husband Charles Craft of Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia; a sister, Rosalie (Lovejoy) Thacker of Hurricane, West Virginia; a brother, James Lovejoy of Leland, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews; a special son-in-law, Randy G. Randolph and wife Becky (Sutphin); nine grandchildren and six great –grandchildren, Rebecca Randolph and Tera Gardner of Point Pleasant, WV, Randall K. Randolph and wife Meggan (Pauley) and their children, Tristan, Kirstan and Prestan of Point Pleasant, WV; Brian Craft and wife Jodie (Zerkle) and their son, Jordan of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; Kevin Craft and wife, Teresa of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; Bruce Craft and wife Cathy of Huntington, WV and their daughter, Alie Craft of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; Jonathan Vance and wife Courtney (Procter) and their daughter, Jasmine of Ripley, WV; Misty (Vance) and husband Charles Boyd, II., of Parkersburg, WV and their children, Christopher Vance and Amber Vance both of Sandyville, WV.
A special thanks to Pleasant Valley Hospital Nursing Staff, Pleasant Valley Home Health, Dr. Ayers, her special four home-sitters, Krebs Chapel Church, Evergreens Church and all of you who have been a part of Reba's life during her battle with Parkinson's.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, November 26, 2007, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Reverends Mike Lambert and Mark Price, officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
