Richard Allen Franklin's Obituary
Richard Franklin Jr., of Point Pleasant, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
Ricky was born on November 28, 1962 in Salina, Kansas to the late Richard and Virginia Franklin, besides his parents Ricky is preceeded in death by a sister Dionne Nelson.
Ricky was employed at Federal Express, he was a 1981 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and a proud veteran of The United States Army. His love of horses was shared with his dad. His quick wit kept us laughing, and his charisma was unmatched. Ricky was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved playing and watching sports.
He is survived by his children Dominique and Isaiah Franklin of Gallipolis, Oh, and Marjorie Chapman, of Pomeroy, Oh. His sisters; Terry and Lisa Franklin of Richmond, Va, Tiffany Franklin, of Point PLeasant, Wv, Donita (Anton) Beam and Crystal Brannon of Columbus, Oh, Sabrina Bryant of Utika, NY, Nicole Franklin of Denver, CO, Denise L. Martin and Kim Raymore of Point Pleasant Wv, and Harriet Franklin of Chevy Chase, MD, his Brothers Ryan (Carla) Cossin of Charleston Wv, and Robert (Angie) Holley of Point Pleasant Wv. Step-mom Vikki See Point PLeasant Wv, Aunt Ada Franklin of Point Pleasant, Wv, multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Special friends Marlene Dexter of Columbus, Oh, and Stevie Patterson and Ronnie Payne of Point Pleasant Wv.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday November 16, 2012, from 6-9PM, with a funeral service Saturday November 17, at 1pm, Minister Harry Harris of Cleveland Oh, will be officiating. Burial will be at Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant with military honors.
Honorary pallbearers are Dominique and Isaiah Franklin and Wade Martin. Pallbearers are: Ryan Cossin, Tony Moore, Roisten Ward, Bud Miller, Sammy and Johnny Morris, and Rodney Byus.
The family has entrusted Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with Richard's care. There is an on-line registery at: crowhussellfh.com.
In Lieu of flowers, donations are being excepted at the funeral home to offset funeral expense with any balance going to Ricky's children.
