Robert A. "Bob" Fowler, 72, of Point Pleasant, departed this life on Sunday morning, December 19, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. Bob was known to many as the, "West Virginia Mountain Man." Bob was born on October 27, 1938, in Mason County, WV, a son to the late Robert Leslie and Pauline (Johnson) Fowler.

Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joann (Houck) Fowler; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Chuck Absten, of Point Pleasant; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Deana Fowler, of Mt. Alto and Steven and Becky Fowler, of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Joey, Mikayla, Sarah and Austin; and two sisters, Nancy Ellen Perry, of Indiana and Polly Ann Fowler, of Point Pleasant.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Rev. Anthony Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Brewer Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
