Roger G. Wamsley age 69, of Middleport, Oh, passed away early Thursday, August 9, 2017, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Oh, after a long battle with cancer.
Roger was born November 9, 1947 a twin to Lloyd and Loreen Wamsley, in Henderson, WV. Being a twin and one of a very large family, Roger grew up as mom's favorite and he knew it.
He was a very likable man; friendly and just loved the simple life. He was an avid sportsman who loved his kids, dogs and all things outdoors. You could always find him fishing, which was his true love.
Roger always had fun and enjoyed camping out at his brother Robert's farm. He loved to fish all night and would spend deer season camped out on the hill, truly enjoying just being there.
Roger is survived by his twin brother, Robert; older brother William and sisters; William, Bonita, Patty, Doris and Molly, along with his two sons, Jeff and Michael and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday August 14, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with the funeral on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Carl F. "Boxer" Swisher officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
