Ruth C. Herdman, age 85, of Pickerington, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Violet Springs Health Campus with her loving daughters by her side. Born March 31, 1938, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late Charles and Eva (Gill) Holland. Ruth retired after 20+ years as a school bus driver for Pickerington School District. She was a woman of God and attended the Baltimore United Methodist Church.

Ruth enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and gardening in her spare time. In her early days, she cherished the adventures traveling with her late husband Gene, especially to their special places' Holly River State Park in Hacker Valley, West Virginia and Canada. Most of all, Ruth loved spending time with her family, creating memories that will be passed down through generations.

In addition to her parents Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Gene" Herdman; siblings, Adron Duncan, Charles Holland, Darrell Holland, and Alice Rife; sisters-in-law, Margie Brown and Phyllis Wilbanks.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Syfers and Jeanne Spurlock; grandchildren, Emily (Thomas) Thurston, Brad (Corinne) Syfers, Dustin Spurlock, Dakota (Kim) Spurlock, and Jacob Spurlock; great-grandchildren, Adelynn Rose, Nora Grace, Fallon Ruth, and Charles David; sister-in-laws, Doris (Fred) Williams, Patsy Holland, and Bev Holland; brother-in-law, Dickie Duncan; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to those at StoryPoint Pickerington and Violet Springs, who cared and looked after Ruth.

Friends are welcome to visit Saturday, August 12, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Mitchell Burch. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery, Flatrock, WV. You may offer condolences via this web page.
