March 31, 1936 – January 25, 2023
Ruth Louise Sallaz Holland of Gallipolis Ferry, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday January 25 , 2023. She was at home surrounded by her family. Ruth was born to the late Admiral Dewey Sallaz and Garnett D. Lear Sallaz on March 31, 1936. She was always kind, thoughtful, helping others and loved unconditionally.
Ruth graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1954 and married Clarence Holland in 1955. She was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant. She cherished teaching Sunday School to preschoolers and serving others when she was able. Ruth loved being a part of the Southern A's Model A Club. She was always excited to ride in their 1930 Model A in the local parades and loved going on the many trips with their friends in Southern A's. Above all, Ruth loved spending time with her family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Wilma Sallaz Wood, Dorothy Sallaz Rardin, John D Sallaz. In-laws, Tennant and Virginia Holland, Dale Wood, Pat Grimm Sallaz, Cecil Sargent and Bill Holland.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence R. Holland, son Steve Holland (Linda Menendez) Leon, WV, daughter, Dee Kennedy (H.D.) Baytown, TX. She was Grammy to Jamie Stapleton (Aaron) Crown City, OH, Travis Nibert (Jodie) Crosby, TX, Ryan Holland, Gallipolis Ferry, WV, and Daniel Kennedy (Shelbie) Deer Park, TX and Grammy 2 to her great grands, Ryleigh and Karleigh Nibert, River and Rowan Kennedy and Parker and Hannah Smith. In-Laws Ken Rardin, Phyllis Holland Sargent, Bob and Carolyn Holland and Nancy Holland along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Saturday January 28, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00 with funeral services beginning at 2:00. Burial will follow immediately at Forest Hills Cemetery.
